Free Moody Matrix Palettes:

Made for working with the Bayer Matrix and Bayer Void algorithms in Dither Boy, but only while you're in a mood.

It is mid September, and we are currently working on a Halloween update for Dither Boy! No shocker, if you've been around for a while.

As a small warm up for Halloween, here are some very moody, gloomy, dark and inky palettes for Dither Boy, with a catch.

These palettes are probably going to suck outside of use in ordered dithering algorithms. In Dither Boy, we use whichever algorithm you've selected to distribute colour. In other words, a palette will look different depending on the algorithm you load, and when you give a diffusion algorithm like Stucki or Atkinson a very dark palette, it typically outputs a 2 hue dither unless you really crank the contrast and brightness settings, whereas the ordered dithering algorithms spread things out more evenly.

This is because diffusion selects colours by how closely they match the image, while Bayer Matrix spreads the image’s brightness across the palette, even if those colours are all very moody. Hence the name: Moody Matrix Palettes! Enjoy.
