Niko's Dither Boy Work

Niko Virolainen works under the alias WRD Media Files and uses Dither Boy as a tool among a combination of Photoshop, After Effects, his own CRT TV setup, and his own signature "Dirty Glow Kit" (which I have linked below) to create vivid ethereal glowing digital art that would feels like it could appear in a Star Wars X-Wing hardware interface, or a Cyberpunk 2077 in-universe advert.

Niko is also a long time "friend of Studio AAA" and has contributed many hours of testing and lots of online word of mouth recommendations for Dither Boy, so I am very happy to be finally returning the favor and sharing some of Niko's recent Dither Boy work here on the community page!

Niko's process largely consists of creating base assets in Dither Boy, usually with a diffusion or modulation algorithm like Uniform Modulation or Stucki, and continuing work on them either by photographing the physical CRT screen, or by using his signature Dirty Glow process in Photoshop.
